How the basement stays dry

Well, some of our family members don't think that today's update is worth blogging about. However, after three weeks of nothing, it is good to see some progress. Rain caused the excavation to cave in and slowed things down. Today the foundation was damp proofed. That is the black tar you see. Under the rock at the base is a flexible pipe called weeping tile that directs water to a sump pail and keeps the basement dry.

Looking good, I'm excited to see how things will finally come together in the end, from the planning stage to completion!!!
